Parents however are to note what kind of toys the children are playing and the extend of time spent playing them. For example, puzzles have an immense amount of educational value. They come in the form of peg puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and mind puzzles. These type of puzzles encourages problem-solving skills, matching colors and shapes, and help develop motor skill. When buying a puzzle for your child, consider their age and interest. For instance, peg puzzles work best for toddlers.
Another type of educational toy is board games. Board games help building social skills, encourage problem-solving, improve the child’s patience and encourage creative thinking. They are also a great social stimulator for children.
Toys are an essential part of childrens’ education and their educational value can be considered to be on par with those of books and educational videos.
