It hugs the baby securely. It is shaped such that the baby cannot get up on his own. So, it is useful if you are alone at home with the child and you need to put him down temporarily to fetch something. It's soft yet firm and it's easy to wash/clean. It is also very light if you need to bring it outdoor to the park or even to a party.
Before my son could sit up on his own in his high chair, we fed him in his Bumbo. Very useful for training baby to eat from a spoon. The Bumbo is also useful for cutting finger/toe nails.
ShopBug's price is definitely more affordable than departmental stores and retail shops.
